Time has flown by after a not so healthy past year for my mentor.  Hopefully we both have a healthier New Year. Snow is scarce here and sewing projects abound even though we aren't snow bound.  I have a new pastel Valentine Dress and pinafore to wear for the holiday today.  I love the subtle hearts in the apron print.  It brings roses to my cheeks.

Hitty's new outfit for autumn

Winter is fast approaching and there is a pile of fall fabric to stitch up before the snow flies. Here is my latest outfit complete with shawl. Fifty degrees out but a windy day.

I'm hoping for a knit hat to keep my head warm too. I can't decide what style Maybe a cape would be a better idea.

My Newest Hitty

She arrived last fall but I have fallen so far behind in posting my Hitty blog photos. Here she is from my favorite wooden doll carver. I got my first one from Helen in the early 60's when we visited her log cabin and workshop in Ozone, Tennessee. She is a 12 inch Holly doll which I dressed myself. I'll have to post her photo next if dear Hitty Pearl does not mind.

A Package from France

This week Hitty Pearl got a long awaited package from France. Postponed by the eruption of an Icelandic volcano, the package was eagerly awaited. Last night her person finished a Becassine print dress for her from the fabric that arrived. She is definitely a lucky girl to be wearing this dress. Here is a photo.

We're having an unusual spring in the Midwest and Hitty headed out in her spring finery to get a breath of fresh air. Flowers are her delight and she found some gorgeous Bleeding Hearts to walk under in her trek.

HITTY CHIC

Spring is finally here in the Midwest. Dear Hitty Pearl has nearly tripled her wardrobe of dresses these past few months. So many wonderful comments about her own dresses that she has started a wee shop of her own called 'HITTY CHIC' Frocks for Hitty. She spends time going from quilt store to quilt store peeking from her person's pocket and pointing out suitable fabrics. She's reminded often of the overstocked stash at home. Possibly she'll be able to amble around the yard and pose for some seasonal photos today.

Hitty Pearl had her Christmas gift early. A 'new' kitchen from the Swedish Muppet cook who has moved on to more modern quarters. She has imported Becassine accessories for the counter and needs to get busy and spruce up the place. Her gift was an inspriration from several HittyGirls photo galleries on the yahoo lists. Hers is bare in comparison but she's anxious to make it her own for this and other holidays.
